Well i know someone who happily keeps a royal and a BCI together and has done for a very long time. They grew up together and seem unaware that they are infact of a different species to each other. So it is possible I think but probably down to pure luck of the draw.

Chinese water dragons have been successfully housed with Basilisks...My Scorpion seems to happy living with a cricket at the moment! ffs

But like others have said its best to avoid it just incase.

It's not something that's reccomended, but if the two species in question come from the same are in the wild, aren't too different in size, and are not going to conflict in any way then it should be fine. Green anoles and American green tree frogs are two types that can be kept together.
But, like I said, it's not reccomended.
