The pricing of royals has always seemed far too excessive to me .... why is an Albino ball between £850-£1000 when an Albino burm goes for £250???

Read my earlier post about supply and demand for the answer to that question. They might both be albinos but the demand for a 4-5 foot royal python is much greater than it is for a 15 foot plus burmese....

Also, an excessively priced royal would be an albino on the market for £5k (because its out of sink with market prices) not one thats £850-1000 (perfectly in tune with the market).

Still ... you'd figure it should be the other way around ... more demand = easier selling of snakes .... it just looks like over zealous profiteering to me.

Yes but its the relationship between supply and demand that counts. You can't separate supply from demand and analyse them individually like that.

It couldn't possibly be "over zealous profiteering" because if it was the animals wouldn't sell as the price would be out of sink with the supply/demand relationship (as per my £5k albino royal example)...don't forget its not profiteering if the animals don't sell!

thats the best comment ive read on RFUK for ages. Im so sick of people complaining over prices. Unless you have just bought a Banana Royal male for 20k, that turned out to be a female, i dont get it
