Not trying to scaremonger people as they can be rewarding captives in the right hands.......sadly the majority of keepers don't seem to have the right hands....even the older ones.

Have to agree with fangio and others on this.
There is no way you can look after a retic, burm etc !! At twelve years old how do you intend to feed it, house it etc its not exactly like your old enough for a paper round, when its adult its going to need a massive cage - how do you intend to afford it ? Just because python comes after the word royal dosent mean you are capable to deal with all pythons !! |

Personally I've kept royals for over 15 years, and have only just decided to get a BCI. I don't feel I have enough experience of handling large snakes to want anything bigger. I would allow my 11 & 15 year old to have snakes, but not something the size of what you are after.
Its not a criticism to your age, but I do feel the snakes you've listed require someone (regardless of age) with a lot of experience and working up the chain to what you want, not jumping from a 4 ft snake to a 18 ft snake.

i`d advise you to get one ,thats one juvenile burm if you like the idea of a larger snake.
If fed sensibly there is no reason why it should pass the five foot mark in twelve months . You would then be in a position to decide whether a big snake is for you. You coud then move it on if you felt like you couldn`t handle it. Take care G |

Try something like a Bull snake. They can grow to 6ft plus, while staying slender and not so difficult to handle......(IMHO) They are lovely snakes. You don't need a super large snake mate. At least not yet anyway.

I would say them snakes are far to big for a 12 year old. Get an Anaconda insted......ONLY JOKING.
Those snakes would be far to big for you. Maybe a super dwarf retic. LMAO cant belive you are actually seriously considering the longest snake in the world aster keeping a royal for 7months hahaha...i wouldnt try and "rip" someone but you are asking for it lol
