Default My First Large Snake ,,

Well Im New On This Forum
My Name Is Kieran , Im 12 Years Old , I Currently Own A Royal Python - I Have Had Her For 7 Months Now.
Im Into Big Snakes More Than Small Snakes ,
Id Love To Own Either
Burmese Python , Reticulated Python , And Dwarf Reticulated Python
Whats Your Opinions
I was thinking any of these .
1.1 Burmese Python
2.0 Reticulated Pythons
1.1 Dwarf Reticulated Python
whats your opinions .

P.s ; i know im young but why do people have to hate on young people owning large snakes, as long as its a hatchling when i purchase it , i should be fine ?

Sorry but in no way could you realistically deal with these snakes at your age. Bear in mind that at a year old some of these have already hit 6-8ft or so. It's madness to even consider it. These are all snakes which have claimed lives of their keepers in the US and not something to be purchased lightly.

Welcome to the forum, I'd suggest you may be ok with a super-dwarf retic though

At 12 years old.....only having one royal python for 7 months it's crazy to go out and get a retic etc.

all i have to say on the subject is remember, the larger types of snakes dont stay hatchlings for long so be warned ! would you have family members who would help assist you at all times when you needed to be doing anything with a snake of a large size ?

I've been talking to this guy on MSN.

I think it's bonkers for him to buy these snakes, but he wasn't listening to me, hence why I asked him to make this post.

true true... if his situation is the same as everybody elses with large snakes... why should people put off? he may be 12 but he could still be mature, tall and strong for his age. He should definitely think about it for a while longer but if his final decision is yes, then i dont see why anyone should have a problem

i must also add, the strength difference between a royal and a boa is huge in my opinion, so i think jumping from a royal to a retic would be a hell of a shock, they seriously are not for everyone to own !

how old is the royal that you own ?
