Default Getting excited

going to go see my future baby royal tonight, actualy cant wait!

cant hold it thou, and it had its first succesfull strike feed last night

atleast i can hold parents i guess though and see her entire collection!
il ask nicely while im there if i can take some pics

Thou there is a question attached to all this:
im assuming even as a younge snake i should avoid feeding it inside its viv so it doesnt associate my hands with food,so in order to feed as i know il need another container,i can easily get my hands on a plastic container from staples as i work there, but do i need to keep the container warm? or do i simply place the little fellow into the container, feed it,leave it to eat and swallow, then getly remove it and return it to its viv? or do i need to also wait a bit of time? in which case i go back to keep it warm :S

done a fir amount of research but cant find much help about younge snakes, only old!

thanks all
and yet another long winded post by me

i feed my corn and royal in the viv and get them out the viv. i feed my snakes on the same day every week so they know when feeding day is and they still not nasty if they can smell it then will will go crazy but if they cant i can still handle them no problem.

I am new to all this snake keeping, but i was given some advise, if you want to pet your snake NEVER feed him/her in the viv, if the snake is a breeding snake and you don't handle it as much then it is fine...

i was also told either get a large 50l RUB and feed in there or just put a towel on the floor and feed on that, the heat is only really important for the snake to digest the food, so it would be ok to leave the snake out for 30 mins without heat...

then it is best to leave the snake for a minimum of 24 hours after a feed 36 to 48 hours is better...

and feeding on the same day is a good routine for the owner as well as the snake...

well my last royal who woz about 2, i used 2 feed him in his viv, i never new anything different! but soon after, everytime i wanted 2 get him out of his viv, he thought i woz feeding him! so everytime i opened the viv he exspected a feed! and all he got woz my fingers! so now with my baby royal she get feed in a different rub, so she will learn when its dinner! and not my fingers!

yea, i take my burms out and put them in seperate plastic tubs to feed, just then be very careful when taking them out and putting them back, wouldnt want them to regurge or nothing. i tried to feed my BRB in a plastic tub but she wasnt interested so put her back in her tub n left the pinkies out near the hole of her cave, she ate em both straight away so she wont go for me because she doenst strike feed yet.

Just for my two cents worth. I do put my snakes into seperate feeding containers, and then just put them back in viv when finished. None of mine seem to regurge. As mentioned though, if i have a finickity eater, putting them into other container seems to throw them of completly, so i just feed in viv.

I started feeding my brb in his viv when the tub i was using broke...well snapped lol.
But no problems, he only had two feeds in it before moving onto feeding in the viv. a year later and no problems, and no biting me either thankfully! =P
