Default Corn breeding enquiry

Hi, earlier in the year i was looking forward to attempt breeding my corn, well there were a 'just' a few implications there lol. I know at the moment ive moved its habitat and having some paranoid concerns for its health. I would still be interested in doing it though as this time next year i will be off to uni and dont think i will cope with moving and starting up a new lifestyle whilst having to attempt the first couple months of care for hatchlings. Now that ive explained myself lol...

Is it possible to locate an adult male corn and breed for this season?

The answer really should be no,

Although you may find it relatively easy to find an adult male, you do need to take into considerations that new purchases should be quarantined away from your existing collection for 3-6 months. By the time this quarantine is over, you will be entering the cooling/brumation period ready for next years mating.

Quarantine is very important, especially with a species like the corn snake which has a low tolerance to quite a few diseases.

IF you are buying from someone you know very well and trust their quarantine, you may be able to get away with it - but it's very late in the season for mating now, so you may be risking the females health for absolutely nothing anyway, as few corns will continue to breed this late in the year, unless cooled at an artificial season to encourage them to mate late.

Thx for that. My army of hatchlings will have to wait . Ill think about my options of trying whilst at uni. I suppose if i wish to try for next year ill have to obtain the male sometime this year also? I dont suppose there is a practise for pairing a snake with someone elses just for mating, probably a major health risk lol.
