Default difficult burm help

my friends son got a 10ft burmese python bout a year ago. when he got it it was friendly and could be held by his little daughter but now its gone realy bad. strikes the viv glass everytime someone goes by and bites and constricts his arm when he tries to feed it (he uses the long tweesers and it does eat the food after biting him)
eats loads, had rats, rabbits, feeds nearly every day.
anyway, iv put this up cause he needs help cause if he carnt tame the burm down again, he'll need to get rid of it cause of his daughter.
so any advice be great and i'll pass it on to him

check the husbandry, check for illness, did he stop handling it for a period? does it calm when he get it out or is he now not willing/able to get it out? If this is the case i'd tell him to rehome ASAP, it won't get better on its own.

something must be wrong for it to change character so much.

Tell him to stop over feeding it. It's cruelty and nothing to do with his mood.

Where does he live? If I can i'll happily take a look, failing that if he can get it to NG18 i'll have a good look at it.

as said, how is it kept? and at what temps?...a 10ft burm should be eating at most every 14 days IMO...IF he is indeed feeding it so much it is most likely a case of it thinking everytime he goes near or opens the viv it is expecting food!

bingo, it has him well trained.

viv opening = food

starve the b*stard for a month, and drag him out of his viv and make him cooperate for a bit.

i'd definately check for illness, mites and bad husbandry first.

when i feed my burm, he stays in "food mode" for atleast 2 days so its best to stay away from the viv... if hes feeding every day he will constantly be in food mode...

he must be one over weight mofo

as above. the question must be asked how does such a large snake that obviously requires specialist care and attention get into the hands of someone with such elementary lack of knowledge that he feeds it almost every day?!?
