I use chopsticks instead of tongs....cheaper and good practice for having takeaway on a weekend

Depends on the occasion also. If it's the snakes' birthday then I usually take it to a restaurant. The quality and price of the restaurant depends on how long I've had the snake and if it's a favourite of mine. Try to be quite consistant though, I have found that there is some jealousy amongst the pack if you only take only certain snakes out to dinner.

When choosing your restaurant, make sure they can cater for your snake. Remember to advise them of the length of the snake so that they can find suitable seating.

I recommend Harry Ramsdens at Bournemouth Pier. Although I've only taken 2 of my Boas there, all of my Bearded Dragons have eaten there, and one of my house rabbits. They are very accommodating, and find suitable cutlery to the creature.

Above all, common sense is the key.

The majority of the time all my snakes strike feed, even the CRB who had problems feeding when i first got him. So i usually feed them from their tubs

TBH, I really wouldn't feed from fingers if I were you - if for no other reason than that snakes are perfectly capable of associating shapes with food. I have several that, in order to get them out of their hides and ready to feed, all I have to do is show the tongs I use to feed them to their viv.

I don't want my snakes - regardless of size - learning that my fingers are ever anywhere NEAR food items. Maybe that's because I've had a five-foot rainbow boa strike and constrict my hand and the pain has taught me I NEVER want that to happen again.

I'd suggest you learn not to get struck by the boa now when it won't hurt too much if she misses rather than have to change your habits once they're firmly ingrained and RELEARN how once you get chomped on.
