Default Feeding Royal

My Royal never refuses a feed while Im home but I went away for 2 weeks on holiday and my sister tried feedin him twice during that time but he didnt eat, I got back and he fed straight away.

That was 6 days ago and he still hasnt popped yet but I see no bloating down towards his tail and I usually feed him every 5 days.
Should I wait until he poops or should I be ok to feed him just now

Hey josh. If he hasent eaten in two weeks id just go ahead and feed him again. Depends on what you last gave him! if he"s just on half-growns say, could take one or two of those to make a good poop. I!ll probably get slated for it, but i feed by time-span, not waiting for snake to defecate before each new feed. Kinda works that way with corns, but the Royals like to store it up for a spectacular event!!

I agree and would offer the feed anyway. Thats what I have done with mine. She had a really good "clear out" the day after I got her and then she was due to be fed. She fed fine, had another good feed on Tuesday and Im still waiting on the poop.

She is eating small mice, so I anticipate a big present to clean up before her next feed or just after it.

Have heard of Royals holding it longer though, and the way I look at it - it has to go in to come out. No good starving her and still expecting poo!

How old/ what size is your python?

In terms of poo, just keep feeding it, it will poo eventually, they are not like corns.

depending on age, if its older you should really be feeding it every 7 days not 5 days

What are you offering them at twice a week?

Surely that is overfeeding - I've never read anything suggesting more frequently than every 5-7 days as hatchling/sub adult.
