Default is there such a thing (electrical device)

i am looking for a electrical componant, that will slowly dim the lights on and off, at a set time, over say 15mins. i think it would be more pleasing to the animals ( prob with no actual benifit) but i think it would be nice.

i was thinking mayby some type of LDR(light dependant resistor), but in priciple, this would work very quickly.

does anyone no of such a componant.

cheers
Dan
ps, i posted in snakes cos its for my snakes, and equeptment/habitat is dead lol )
