Im addicted to snakes also lol and I recently got a job at a reptile shop in canvey, so im going to be bringing a fair few snakes home lol. I gotta decide what to get, Im liking cali kings and milks I should of got a couple of them at basildon

Anyways I would say get a male bci will grow 6-7 usually males do, females 10ft+

i would say ratsnakes(bairds,texas and so) or some of the larger species of kingsnakes(floridas and fair few others) are really good snakes to consider as well as gopher snakes but if you are wanting to go for boids columbian rainbows or something like a childrens python are recommended

know how you feel i went to basildon , i had to bite my cheek to not pick something up!

why not check out a Woma python. Lovely gentle snake and easy to look after

If you like carpets then get one of the smaller types. Irian jaya or jungle. They are quite lively as babies but will calm down quite quickly. Get a calmer yearling if you don't fancy a couple of bites in the first few weeks.

With an 8 yr old, I would be very careful. Rainbows can be snappy, which would put any kiddie off. I would agree with an Irian Jaya. Another would be a Hog Island boa. Look for a species renowned for being gentle. The rats are often snappy.

Thanks for your suggestions folks i do like the Irian Jaya, and i will do my research , are they simiar to the jaguar carpets ?

I have just ordered a BRB but really wanted a Carpet too, thing is the only carpet that was available around here was a coastal, and the wife knows (because my mate owns it) that they can grow to 9.5ft +!
