Default Tips Wanted - Taking Pics Of Snakes

Can u all give me tips of taking photos of my snakes????

IE.. what colour backround
flash on or off
natural light
above or below

ect.....

what to take some photos and get best poss out of then and to show the colour of the snakes

err im no expert but i get better pics in natural light without the flash, although sometimes if you catch it right the flash is ok on. snakes are hard to photograph (i think so anyway) i guess you just have to get them out and let them get into nice positions, trial and error

Recently we've started using unprinted newspaper to take photo's on





We use the unprinted newspaper in the tubs so quite handy to find another purpose for it







We use a flash, i've tried photo lighting but i haven't got proper lighting and it never worked very well for us. so i try and make the room quite bright, and sit them on the unprinted newspaper now, and we use the flash

we also use a nylon that obsorbs light, and i've recently discovered how to take images without the flash, so who know's, i might get there eventually . i aint an expert but that's what we do so far

Wow, that second royal up from the bottom is beautiful!! What kind of morph is it?

tell ya someone else that might b worth asking...n thats macro junkie...although he uses his mostly for extreme close ups...(his photographgy is the best i seen in a while imo) he may b able to give tips an advice on how to set up a shoot, so to speak!!!

worth a try me thinks anyway lol

Sorry to hi jack this thread but i have just got to say your photos are spot on and whats more your snakes are outstanding. I've just bought a pinstripe from Glen at Jungle Phase and she's stunning i hope to get her at the end of oct once she's ready.
