eco earth or coconut substrate works for me.

If you are prepared to change the sub VERY regularly then you can use most bark, it just rots after a week or so, so NEEDS changing.

Spagnum moss can maintain the water retention for you (I used it as substrate for a few days when I ran out and hadn't noticed)

thought would put in a few photos of how i keep mine. Also i do not mist any of my tubs, more that i just move the waterbowl around, to help with the humidity, especially in tubs that just have paper. Have also enclosed a few of my setup, and how it all works for me. Hope it of some help. Also my waterbowls also work as hides. Anyway this is how i do it, enjoy

Who honestly has the time to mist daily? Hence the eco earth/coconut substrate. I find it does the job for you, the only reason I use orchid bark is for texture. I'm with brick on this one, eco earth + large waterbowl = sorted!

i dont even think its about a time issue, whether you mist daily or not, just more whether you hae your setup done correctly. And i for one, believe that a correct BRB setup, does not need misting daily, and can easily sit above 80-85% humidity.

I've only ever used the one from the garden centre, the other stuff is just a rip off because they put 'terranium moss' on the packet, its exactly the same stuff. Luckily the pet shop I sometimes go to is in a garden centre, and they sell the normal spagnum moss in the pet department alongside the terranium moss so you have a choice.
