hi i have a new dimmer stat for my royals viv,
i know the dials are a bit innacurate on the stats but could they be up to 3 degrees out as to get 30c at my probe the dimmer is reading 27c on the dial? just thought i would ask to see if i have probe in wrong place? or are the dials on stats really that far out?

It could be that far out. I don't really look at what the stat dial says, just look at the thermometer to check its reading good temps.

I put both my stat and thermometer probes on the substrate below my ceramic and get a good thermal gradient in my 3x2x2 viv

yeah, you have to put the 2 probs on the substrate so you know the temp at the hottest end at the snaes level.
I tape my 2 probes together so the reading is as acurate as poss.
