Default bcc viv size

would a cb07 3 foot bcc male be ok in a 6x2x2 or possibly bigger viv so wouldnt have to upgrade for a while or should i start smaller and upgrade gradually?

I would start smaller if I were you. You could always get a 6x2 and section it off and then just move the divider as and when needed. My 2 07 BCCs will be going in to a 6x2 with a divider in the middle so they have a 3x2 each, then when they get bigger they will have a 6x2 each.

I don't think you'll need a 6x2 for a male BCC unless he's extremely large, how big is he approximately?

i wouldnt waste my time and effort partitioning it off, boas are very good in big vivs at a small age. mine has been in a 7 x 3 x 3 since the day i bought her (WAS ABOUT 10 MONTHS AGO) and she was under 2 foot when i got her. she poos, eats and sheds perfect every time and due to the extra excersise she has done because of the size of the viv she is a very healthy and large example!

i swear all this about gradually stepping viv sizes up origanly came from pets shops so they can make more money! PUT IT IN A THE VIV YOU WANT IT TO LIVE IN THE REST OF ITS LIFE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

Do not stick it in the big viv esp without making a partision, maybe your bcc has been fine with it but maybe the OPs bcc wont, its not worth risking it tbh.
RUBs are your best choice, they are easy to setup just with a heatmat and thermostat and are really cheap. dont forget to drill some holes though

he could stick it in the large viv give it a few feeds and let it shed and poo or not depending on the out come then see if a partition is needed! RUB's are the best choice but thats if you like displaying your snakes like unwanted toys at the bottom of the closet i would give the large viv a go your self before deciding to partition the viv up as your snake may be like mine and a few of my mates and be hunky dorey, its each snake to his own. Feed the boa then stick him in the large viv leave him alone for a week without even looking at him then offer another prey item if its taken then your on a winner. But make sure you fill your large viv with loads of hides as a large empty viv will overwhelm the little snakie but one with hides every where will be fine!

this is my viv if you want a quick gander!

exactly! thank you, never have and unless a extreme breeding session makes it a nessesity, never will use rubs,. a glorified box for you snake to live in does not look or sound good to me for a living creature especially one which its soul purpose is to look cool and pretty!
