I'd reccomend a Kayaudi Superdwarf/Dwarf retic
Around 2 and a half years old, and no bigger than 5ft

`i`1m not convinced by this dwarf retic thing ,even though i`ve been given evidence in favour of it.

i`d go for the burm either way much more placid and loveable

i`d question the garage thing tho` i neither think that is necessary or desirable .

what temprement do u want?
i find burms are dustbin feeders, placid, dopey, predictable great to roam around the house

retic tends to be more interesting, intelligent, mischievous, keeps me on my toes u gotta keep watching them not so great roaming the house

in a way i prefer the retic more fun but peaches is my baby and i trust her more

As not being too keen on the large snakes, Purely because I don't have any room. I'd go for a Normal Phase Burmese over the above. Personally don't like the Albino Burmese's. Aslong as you know what your doing and not just filling a corner (or a room perhaps!).

You should know yourself which one you prefer, Your'll be attracted to it for some reason, so just wait until you know.

*runs and hides befor angry dwarf retic lovers throw stones*
the pictures taken below are of a WC java retic been about for around 2 years i think and is barley 5.5ft and isn't enen as wide as a deodorant can
i dont think this one will get big i reckon 12-13ft tops in sure someone will disagree with me on that but u can see he isn't big by the pictures

How are you not convinced?
There are localities of retic that get a lot smaller than "normal/mainland" retics, its a fact. So long as you buy one from a reliable source then they are a great first retic, and I love my Kayuadi to bits. Just over 15 months old, and little over 3ft. Eats like a dust bin, happy to be handled, never struck out of agression. I couldnt recommend him enough. Even my anti-snake friends like to handle him.
I've never had a burm, simply because I was given the choice of retics or burms, and went the retic route. Glad I did too Can't wait for my albino and platty retics to arrive

I agree a big snake could get very defensive in somthing the size of a garage best off building some vivs in the garage and geting lots of retics in them
