Ive got a female common boa not sure how old she's about 23 inch and I wanted to add a red tailed boa to the same viv.

Is this wise if so:

Do i get a male or female, I would like to breed them eventually but not for a couple of years, will there be any courting before they are sexualy mature?

Is it better to have 2 males together or 2 females together rather than a male and female?

Do i need seperate hides?

Any suggestions guys cause I'm itching to purchase my second boa!!!

I would not house them together until the female is old enough and big enough to safely become gravid. The male will sexually mature far earlier than the female does, and he most certainly won't look at the date on her driver's licence to see if she's "legal" before he tries to mate her.

I wouldn't house another "female" with her for exactly the same reason - it's all too easy to sex a shy male as a female.

And is there a particular reason you'd planned on breeding BCI to BCC? Unless you personally REALLY like the look of the crosses you may find that most people vastly prefer true subspecies (and ideally true locality) over hybrids.
