when should you start upping the feeding, of younger snakes is there a "rule" i.e when it gets "X" big or it weighs "X"?

can any one shed some light on this for me please?

When there is no bulge left by the current food item. I like to feed something that is another 1/4 the girth of the snakes mid body

i accidentally dropped a fuzzy in the hatchling tank and it grabbed it and ate it hes 10 weeks old !!!!!

i crapped myself but he ate it in but 5-10 mins so i just feed him them now

basically when theres no visable buldge the general rule is 1.5 times the widest part of the snakes body. Saying that theres nothing wrong with feeding more then one food item.

Yeah once it will take two pinks comfortably, so not more than an extra 1/4 girth after feeding move it up a size.

oh i agree seen a rock python eating a gazel. but do snakes know there limits? i know some frog dont and end up choking on another frog. but dont want that to happen

When i first started keeping and i didnt really know what i was doing i had a few snakes get half way down a meal and thing 'oh sh*t cant get all this in' then the would reverse back and slither away. This was not good and consiquently they would go off their food. This is why i now apply the 1/4 rule though im sure some snakes could take more but if thay cant or dont want too it can freak them out and they go all fussy.
