Talking Sticky

I totally agree with all the previous posts this thread is concise and straight to the point, pictures are quite scray to think a snake can deteriorate that quick, just glad u caught it early and Isis is now recovering.

Gud thread and well done for you and Isis.

Sticky Please.

Dan

thanks again,. if someone would verbally describe what you have shown it might have looked like bad skin shed. thanks again for showing what to look for other than repeating standard 2% of bleach over and over and over again.

This is not the same illness, I am sure, but I do need advice and maybe someone reading this page may be able to help me.

My Green tree python seems to have 3 small places on his body where the scales are slightly separated and he has a bit of a bump under the skin.
I re-homed him for some time and only recently had him returned to me, so I have not been in control of his environment or feeding/shedding routine. But in general he seems to be just as he was when he left my care.

But I have recently changed his viv for a new one and stupidly, perhaps, added one more branch to the viv. It is a (washed and dried) berried ivy branch. Now I am regretting using it. I plan to take it out of the cage as soon as I can, hopefully in the next hour or two. Even if it is not the cause, I would prefer to be safe. I will post photos later incase someone can identify the problem. If it is an abscess, skin infection etc caused by the ivy then I am very angry with myself, but will also need advice fast in how to treat him. Luckily I can handle him as he is as friendly as a kitten, so administering ointment etc wont be a problem.

I have never had any problems with my snakes before and it is great to have a place to come and ask advice! Thanks to all of you out there!

Well as this disease can occur all over the snake it could be, but its better to take them to the vets and be safe rather than sorry, could you get a pic?
