trouble is that half the people in the shops selling them, don't really know enough themselves... you will see countless horror stories online about people who have seen appalling conditions, been sent home with sick animals etcetc
there are shops who keep vegetarian animals in with livefood eaters.. shops who keep 6 species of snake, (boas pythons and ratsnakes) in one 6x2x2 viv.. those who keep lizard eating species in with other species of lizards.. those who traffic wild caught mite infested worm laden animals.. those with inadeqaute heating, lighting, feed, water and space.. i know more bad shops than good ones unfortunatley.. back to your guys.. or maybe not guys... where about in essex are you? you could really do with finding out what the sex of that other one is.. if its been introduced to a male.. and its now quiet and getting a lot bigger and fatter... then there is a chance it could be a female.. divide the snake into thirds.. is it the last third thats getting fatter? between the tail and about halfway up the body?? is the snake spending more time in the warm area at the moment? Nt read the whole threead word for word so apologies if i've just repeated anything already said here:
Well my pm's are playing up so i'll post here, not so sure on motley but not seen many opals in the flesh either tbh so not sure what the standard is with regards to belly checking etc etc but i've linked to some pics from serpenco which might help you decide? Opal Motley SerpenCo.com Shopping Cart - 2006 - Opal Motleys - SOLD OUT! Opal SerpenCo.com Shopping Cart - 2006 - Opal Corns - SOLD OUT! From those it looks more like the standard opal as most motleys hav the vibrant colour right the way through and the motley circles in a lighter colour i.e. butter mots being yellow with whitish circles and the opal mots are more orange with white circles but like i say i'm no opal expert. Hope it helps you slightly though, as for sexing if he's still smallish i.e. eating pinks/fluffs and of easy popping side i'm happy to have a look for you if it's arrangeable but like i said in pm's i'm not 100% sure on probing so not going to attempt that one.
