no its fine....it digests as soon as it hits the belly...dosnt do any harm at all.

sounds like it should harm....but you dont need to use loads of it...and it will be digested or passed through....

just dont use really thick stuff or fishing line(has been done before believe it or not and snake died)

Personally Id never use cotton! I use PVA soluble thread to tie chicks to rats as I had the same problem. Its soluble so dissolves on contact with water and is 100% non toxic. I got 20m from a tackle shop for £4!
