im no expert or anything, but if it was me, i would try chicks again next time to try set it off into routien eating again as you know it ate them last time, so has more chance of eating them again, and after that, scent the rats with chick, even possibly (as you say it ate 2 chicks) feed first a chick, then chick scented rat maybe? Glad its eating tho!

got you pm x
right...chicks have so little nutritional value, that you cant feed a snake just chicks, but the problem is they tend to love them..snake chocolate! So to get off chicks...you need to either scent the rat wit the chick(rub them together)or if a small chick sew to the rat,or cut a wing off the chick(sounds discusting, but has to be done)and sew the wing to the rat and offer. then if he takes that, next time just try scenting the rat, then time after....just the rat.just before feeding try warming the rat with a hairdryer for about a minuite. Hope this helps let me know how you get on x |

yeah it is good she`s eating again...
we had 2 snakes in a while ago....been fed on chicks(turkey chicks)..what a nightmare that was getting them off them! they had them all life and they were thin, just didnt look right...way to small....bad skin etc...we got them off in the end but it was a right job. a lot of people dont realise theres basically no nutritional value in them. best of luck for next feed xxx |
