if you want a boa or pyth that nice and wont grow massive I would suggest mexican rosy boas, not sure how many varieties of the snake there are these days but they dont grow much past 3 feet. Childrens pythons grow 3 feet and are really nice little snakes. Royal pythons good but batter buying a cb that has grown on and feeding ok. Im not sure on the availability or breeding in captivity but mexican dwarf pythons grow to about 3 feet or so. sand boas are pretty small chunky snakes. columbian rainbow boas are not too large providing dont power feed it.

Corns don't really have much in the way of teeth, where boas and pythons have pretty nasty teeth, especially the arboreal varieties.

Emerald tree boas are supposed to be for hte experienced, not to say you're not fit to keep one, but thats the rule.

I'm only ever going to work with semi arboreal or arboreal so am starting off with jungle carpets and going from there. Will eventually have GTP's and ATB's
thanks a lot babes! ill leave the tree boas for now then and maybe get a ball python as they r great colours or a brb! which would u recomend? boa or python?

I would say they are both great snakes, whatever you like best really. I like both boas and pythons and say they are as nice and as easy to keep as each other

lol. I'm always gonna say pythons. Only because of looks really which is just down to personal preference. I like python markings and head shape and find boas have differen't kinda duller patterns (excluding BRB's and a few others) and have pointy heads, which I don't like.
All down to taste though.

There are aggressive and docile pythons and boas so there are loads of choices for you.

Just pick one you like the look and then find out how to keep it. Keeping any snake is hardly rocket science if you are confident with handling. Giants (retics, burms, condas, female BCC even?) are an exception for obvious reasons.

You still get people on here that buy feeding Royals that refuse once bought.

I think it's quite fair to say that they are shier (spelt right?) than most common pet snakes and are prone to stress.

Get something with some attitude. lol

I am going to visit a breeder of Rainbow Boa's, varieties he keeps include the Argentinians, Paraguayans, Ecudorians and Marajo Islands, for some hands on experience of his babies Argies and Ecud's as well as his Royal Pythons.

I know what I like visually so have some ideas of what I would want to own BUT with his help I'll be able to handle and spend some time with the living version of my wish list to help me make a more informed choice about the right snakes for me at this time and experience level.

Maybe you could find someone who is willing to let you do something similar to help make a choice.
