its a western gabby i thinks, and the darker one looks like some kind of rattler, at a guess, i'd say either pigmy, or timber, depending on size...

I think the darker one is a rattler of some kind, maybe a timber rattler as that is the first one tha came to myhead. and the head shape of Eric's pic looks like a gaboon

first one is a gaboon viper the second not sure rattlesnake of some kind!!!

snakes- 0:1 Macklotts water Python, 10 Royal Pythons 18 Corns, 21 boas various hets and morphs, 1 diadem rat snake, 3 baird rat snakes, 2 hoggies, 4 sand boas, 2 tai beauty snakes, 1 albino burmese....

Lizards- 1 Bearded dragons, 4 yellow throated plated lizards, 5 Birbon geckos, 4 fat tails, 1 tokay geckos, 2 dwarf sungazers

Other animals- 7 Labrador, 10 degus, 2 chins, 1 chipmunks, 100mice n rats, 20 odd gerbils, , 7 hamsters, 13 spiny mice, 2 stripey mice, 1 Northern Inuit......

The first is a WESTERN gaboon (note the lack of stripe creating 2 triangles below the eye so it isn't an eastern and the lack of diamond on the head so it isn't a rhino)
The second could be a timber or maybe C. viridis cerberus if it's a rattler at all
