Ok, how about a juvenile GTP that has to be seriously tease fed? I've tried hot , cold, brained, scented (gerbil fur, chick down, lizard maker, chick blood, guinea pig bedding), you have to really "P" it off, then it strikes, coils then drops the food, ocasionally it'll eat, but not consistently, my other one is like BANG! food gone.........
any ideas? Temp is constant, it's been in the same container for months. |

my corn doesn't seem to be eating & i've turned into the biggest worrier ever. i've been feeding her twice a week but have been told this is too much coz she's only ickle. so i wasn't too worried when she didn't eat on sunday but she didn't eat yesterday either. i've tried the leaving the pinky for 24 hours thing so it's still in there & she's curled up next to it, but like it's a teddy & not her dinner.
should i just take the pinky out & leave her till next wednesday? oh and please all tell me to stop worrying, i know it's only been a week but she looks so small & delicate. i want her to have 3 square meals a day lol.

heres what i do, i have a little corn who is very shy and wouldnt eat! he is very underweight, and was very distressing
so i thought i would try somethin out,i use shredded paper for my bunny,so i got a handful of shredded paper and put it in his tub so it was like a little hide away!,waited a week then took the paper out of the viv,put in the pinkie place a towel over so he could eat in peace.....and after 5mins pinkie had gone 4mth later and eaten everyweek

i thought about trying that when i read it on the feeding tips. what we did in the end was just put her in a tub, in her viv and covered the viv. and she ate, that was last sunday so we'll do the same tonight & if she eats, we'll try her with pinks next sunday.

I just tried the tub method and it worked!!! I tried like normal to start with, just trying to tempt my royal with his rat weaner and he was not paying the slightest bit of attention. I then got a tub which is just big enough for him to fit in (with predrilled holes in the lid) and put in the rat which I had previously warmed with my hairdryer after warming for a while in a sealable bag placed in a jug of tap hot water. I then placed cushions around the outside of the tub to make it dark in their for him. He spent a while trying to get out, but I left him in there for about half an hour and when I went to get him out the rat had gone. That was the first time I had tried that method and I am well chuffed that he has eaten as he went without food for about 6 weeks previous to his last feed.
