Out of curiosity... when exactly did you get the thermostat (compared to when you got the snake), and how long has the cage been running with a floor temperature of approximately 85 degrees right on top of the mat?

I'm just wondering if your recent troubles trying to feed your corn can be traced to "too hot on the hot side!"

oh god here we go again, obviously people are going to have different views on this subject as iv read so many time son this forum.

Basically unless you really cant afford a stat (24.99 on ebay) then use one, its much safer.

The shop here also supplies full kits including heat mat but no stat, the advice they give is that yes there safer to have one, but not necessary.

i guess to each there own.

roll on more bitching

i dont know about a week ago.

it was measured on top of the aspen, cause the glass was hot, which i thought it was meant to be. now the glass is only slightly warm.

No, the glass should not be hot. In fact, because your body temperature is higher than your snake's basking temperature, it should barely feel warm at all.

I would measure the temperature on the glass just to be sure... but I think you might have pegged WHY your corn hasn't been eating. Stress from too much heat can cause that.

its 28.4 at the moment, from the glass, it is being measured from the glass.

You apparently have one... and yet you are advising Scotty123 he does not need one and calling him immature for asking about it.

Why is that ?
