As was said before, the boa would be too heavy to lift over one shoulder. Dont belive that atall. Im not the strongest of people, and i have no problem putting my 12ft burm over my shoulder. I dont doubt that this snake is big. It does look around the 10ft+ mark. Dont doubt it for a second. Would'nt mind seeing some more pics though

You can just be rude to some one then say sorry and expect that to be the end of the matter as you seem to use this word to often and has lost its meaning

never thought i would have to use him twice

You were the one who posted it claiming it to be a size it clearly isn't!? If you want people to blow smoke up you ass 'cos your uncle has a nice snake, find another forum (or don't exaggerate), if you want honest opinions stay here (but stop crying when you don't hear want you want to hear.)

PS r.e. lengths, mine is 20kg, which I manage alright on my own, but I work out a lot! I read an interesting aritcle in the BBC Wildlife Mag by anaconda resercher and expert Jesus Rivas (my hero!) who reckons snakes can change their lengths, as proven by him measuring a huge anaconda twice in the same week while taking routine biological data, and that her measurements differed by a whole meter each time!! My boa measured under 10 foot the last time I checked but she looks more like 12 to the eye, and her skins certainly exceed 10 foot.
Many people will overestimate a length by eye alone and skin is absolutely the wrong way to measure a snake. My big female who is eight and a half foot (approx) has skins that measure 10ft plus. A shed is at least 10-20% longer than the snake itself, if you think about how the shed is compared to the snake, it's quite obvious, on the living snake the skin is elastic and pulls the scales in so they overlap, on the shed each scale is surrounded by non-elastic stretched skin like this

Cheers

Andy

a 12 foot boa would weigh more than a 12 foot burm though

Nice boa, I have seen 9ft boas of the same sort of girth, 12 is very rare for a boa not to say the Op is telling porkies. My guess looking at the girth i'd say 10ft max but the only way to find out is get a good measure.

Daamn Lotte, that's a mighty fine snake!

two questions though

1) When is she due..

and

2) How exactly did you pull that shot off? Spawn of satans ...sorry epicrates are not exactly renowned for their relaxed disposition.......

You obviously believe it, fair enough, but don't be suprised by the questions. You've got no reason or right to go bananas at various people in this topic at the drop of a hat.
And for the record, try looking through my posting history, not only might you learn something (Leave it till the morning though eh, give the old braincells a sporting chance), but you'd see that I post plenty of positive things. The only thing you won't see me posting is "Woah mayte, yo0ur giant bowa is well gud, I r jealous of you"...

Anyway, here's me holding a 19-20' Jamaican Boa, I measured it with string... Don't question me though or I'll go totally nuts!!!
