oka then its a year old which i bought off my dads mate. he drove a night to the mans dad's house to my dads work to my house yesterday and last night i left the snake downstairs but my mom wanted me to move the snake up into my room which is the loft so i put it up there and then i put the hide in the lights on the lot but the snake stayed in the cool end in strike position so i havent managed to stick in the water or his other hide as i dont want to stress him anymore. i am going to keep checking see if he has settled but i was wondering if you could help me out with it all? as im new and want to leanr and read the care sheets before getting one.

he is probably just a bit stressed yes, but you need to put the water bowl in. Also I think it was you that also has wrong stat for you heat lamps, so you need to get that sorted as well. Then he should start to settle down.

oh i see, in that case it is probably just a bit out of sorts, it has recently moved home, and then when it arrived at its desination you needed to move it again, and it's probably just thinking "jeez who are you people, leave me alone". It'll calm down in a few days i'm sure. Just try not to handle it for a week or so to let it settle in. As to the water bowl, just wait til she's all settled and under a hide and gently and quitely, so as not to disturb her, place the water bowl in the viv.

Put the water bowl in and leave him alone in his new home for a few days at least. He should have settled down by then!

I wouldn't worry about that. If he's stressed out he may not feed anyway. Give him a few days to settle in at least, then feed him an appropriately sized item or one slightly smaller than normal, then give him three days to digest. After this he should have calmed down and you could try to handle him if you wish.
