we had a problem hoggie eater tried the scenting thing.... nothing.. then we put her food into her home and then guided her onto it ( like holding a hoover lol) we just kept putting her face by the fluff and she just started to munch on it ( it was brained) this is the only way she'll eat now and fro some strange reason the other two eat like this as well

Here is what I do for hogs that "stop feeding"...

I offer them food on regular feeding days... If they take it, great, if not, they will eventually... Back in the early 90's I had hogs go weeks without feeding and they are fine... They all maintained a good weight and lived to be old hogs... 2 are still alive today...

I never tried to feed them scented pinkies...
I feel this is a step backwards...

I never had to assist feed...
Hogs can be touchy at times and it is best to let them feed when they feel like it...

Healthy hogs can and do go off feed but a healthy hog will never stay off feed...

As far as giving them time to "settle in to their new home" goes, its a bunch of crap... I picked up 3 hogs at the Daytona Fl expo... The snakes sat in deli cups for days... They took a 15 hour car trip... I put them in their bins when I got home and all 3 ate the very next day...

Any animals I have ever shipped out to customers have eaten either the same day or the day after they arrived... I dont buy into that whole thing that reptiles need to "settle in"... They really just need time to heat up to the proper core temp and they are ready for food...

How long can she live without food? shes only a 10 g baby.
She was eating fine till I took her to my brothers, I cleaned her faunarium out and moved her (1 hour drive) same thermostat settings, same faunarium etc.
I had timed it so she was due a feed that day so that I could give her a pinkie and she would be ok to be fed a week later when i got back. I offered her a pinkie when i got her there but she did'nt eat it. My brother tried feeding her during the week but no luck, my neice handled her as well, hope she didnt do something to her.
I've also tried the guiding her over the mouse. Before she stopped eating I just used to put her into a small container and hold it in front of her nose and shed grab it straight away. Even when I bought her and when she ate thwe following day, shes never missed.
I increased her temp slightly but think I'll turn it back down, shes about 86 now, 80 - 90°F when I check the max and min. I've been leaving the light on to try and make her think the days are longer, it was pretty dark in my brothers kitchen.
When I bought her I dont think she had had any heating so maybe she likes it colder, she was moved to a bigger container. She seems to spend more time above the aspen these days, she was in a coil all night at the cold end and didnt move all night, shes moving about less now.

I'm not an expert but it very much sounds like your hog may be trying to brumate (as it's the time of year - my adult is the same this time of year every year) but obviously as a baby at just 10g it isn't suitable for yours to do so.

Maybe spending the week in your brother's dark room didn't help as it would have pushed along the "days getting shorter let's go into brumation" process. I think at this stage it may be worth taking her to someone maybe on this forum who is a hog breeder and can maybe assist feed? It's not something I would normally recommend but I think more help maybe needed. What do others think? I also feel it isn't a good idea to turn off the heating.

You can brumate hatchlings - I have done it before with a very stubborn hoggie.
However, I cooled mine down over a 1 week period, rather than 2, and only kept her at 50F for a couple of weeks, before warming back up again. I still had to scent feed to start with, but it worked - prior to brumation all food was refused.

I think your right, its either bruminate or force feed, she's back at 80°F now, I'll give her one last try with egg white tonight then I have to make the decision of which, I'll ask Pauline who bred her what she thinks and if she would be happy to try force feeding. Its hard to decide, I think brumination is what the snake wants but I'm a bit worried she might not come through it but I think force feeding a tiny hoggie is also difficult.

Take a jar in next time you go and ask if they'll gently squeeze the frog over it. They wee when they're squeezed and you can use the wee to scent a pinkie.
