What were they attempting to feed it previously that was ridiculously oversized?

I don't know about mouse size terminology (All the snakes I know take rats) but it was about the size of a medium rat. The poor snake is only around 2 ft long and has no bulk on him what so ever!

Since the school had him though, he hadn't taken one large food item, though. I wouldn't had worried if he'd been regularly taking them.
