Default safest way to defrost

Hi all

Ive forgotton to take my mice out for feeding tonight.

which is the best way to defrost apart from leaving it out?
ive heard you can put them in a bag in hot water or microwave, im not too keen on microwaving as blew a pinkie up once and it stunk the kitchen out, so havent tried it since.

Thanks in advance
Jo

Do NOT use a microwave - because of the way they heat you end up with outrageously hot innards even when the skin of the mouse feels relatively cool because of the lower water content (in the same way pasty fillings are always hotter than the pastry....)

The best way is the put it in a pan of warm water inside a sandwich bag or similar. I defrost all my rodents this way.

I put mine in a tub with boiled water for a few seconds check they are defrosted then put in cold water for a few more second to make sure they arent hot, Thats what I was told and they seem to like them.

Warm water out of the hot tap is fine, boiled water will be a little TOO hot, I actually cooked a pinkie by accident in over-hot water
As for how long, depends on the mouses size really, just keep checking it.
