p.s to be honest you really dont need the light for corns a heat mat under one end will be enough corns dont need it anywhere near as hot as some speices although i do keep my corns heat mat plugged into a thermosat
ideal temp of about 86 f at the hot end and 68 - 71 at the cool end ( this is just what i have found works for me not everyone might agree with me but this would be my recomendation!) hope this helps B

nice amel corn you have mate
as everyone has said you be better off with just the heat buld with guard controlled by a dimmer thermostate or a tub with heat mat at 1 end controled by a mat stat depending on the room temps as if the room temps are too cold the mat might not give you the right temps, i find with my corns they do well with slightly lower temps 80 - 82F at hot end and 72-75F at cool end

Yep that mat is fine to put underneath the tank. Fix it to the bottom with some tape, and try to leave some space between the mat and the surface the tank is on, with some wooden blocks at each corner of the tank just as an example.
