Have a word with Pauline on here. She keeps blue beauties.

I keep a pair of them, in fact the 2 in the viv in the article are mine. They are beautiful snakes although they can be very snappy as youngsters but with regular handling will calm down. They are very large snakes, my male is at least 7' and they have been known to reach up to 11'.

I'm hoping my 2 will breed next year so hopefully I will have hatchlings available then.

ive just bought a little girl and she is a darling. a real pleasure to own. but you have to be prepared for how big, powerful and down right aggressive they can be. if handled regularly they can be calmed down but remain nervous.

i love them so id recommend them all day to people who are prepared for what they have to offer.

the colours are better than most pictures. haha
the nips arent bad when they are young but obviously when they are puishing 7-8 feet that is one hell of a nip. lol.

my advice would be to see an adult and handle it or a similar animal just to see if you could safely and confidently handle that sort of animal. thats what i did. and im still doing it now after ive bought her.

thats a good way to start out but beauties move quite differently to corns as they are sometimes quite jerky and unsure in their movements whereas corns are very deliberate and slow moving. if you can handle bigger ratsnakes then u will be abit better prepared. you also need to be prepared for the possibility of having a "look dont touch animal" as some can become like tis. i worked with an adult female who was near as hell unhandalable and she frightened the life out of me at the time. i think it pays to get as much expereince with them as possible before buying any snake.

still sounds like your on the right track so far.
