Default Children's Python Viv Setup

Hi.
I'm going to be getting my first snake soon, i'm going for a children's python. I need to know what would be the best vivarium setup for this snake, size and heaters, temps and uv lights etc.
Cheers Stuart.

If you're getting a Childrens python make sure you get a snake that is already feeding well and has done for some time!

Viv really depends on the age and size of the snake. 80-90F is good at the warm end. Don't try and play about with the humidity of the entire viv, just provide a smaller tub inside the viv with moss/damp kitchenroll etc.

Also, if yours is on the nippy side don't be put off. They calm with regular handling.

Have you seen a particular Children's Python you like and are getting or have you just decided you like the species? If you've found a specific snake then giving us a rough idea of current size will help us help you, as sizes of vivarium will be different from hatchling to adult. As above if they bite to start with they will calm with regular handling and a bit of patience

Childrens Pythons are a great snake to care for, I think there very pritty looking snakes lossing there colour as they get older, But there have got charm.

I had three, 1.2 the male was very carm, but a poor feeder, food had to be decapertated first..... lovely. The Other two.... Females Were bitty, but struck like cruise missiles, never missing a feed.... akin? lol.

sounds like us humans ay he he he.

Great snakes thought not hard to keep, nor care for, I'm glad i got the opertunity too work with them ;-)

Good luck dude, nice alternative too Corns.
