NEVER trust dial humidity gauges!!
we used one and compared it against our digital one. the dial read 70%, and the digital 94% humidity. get digital stuff but personally i think you are worrying over nothing. royals can have bad sheds so don't worry, even in the best of "literature" conditions. You certainly will NEVER want high humidity, because this is far worse. If you think i am lying? i've owned royals for 7 years now, and guess how much i concentrate on humidity? VERY little. you're humidity readngs are perfect by the way. I believe if you have a royal feeding they always shed easily. if they don't shed properly, don't worry! all you got to do is put them in a nice warm water bowl... recently we just leave them overnight in a tub, with one end heated to approx 90F. the skin falls the next morning, it's piss easy EDIT (and other areas needed edited): links to some good gauges... gauge for basking, and ambient temps Thermometers4U Online Shop - product details gauge for humidity/ambient temperature (you'd be amazed the difference between this and a dial), accuracy...
