with the amount of experience here it wouldn't be bad idea to do same with animals you keep..all cameras have video settings or i bet some of you own a video camcorder..put your methods into practice rather than words to promote good keeping of the animals

I don't know about the rest of it because I haven't watched it, but the vids on baby turts are actually pretty good, not perfect but a hell of a lot better than the advice you'd get in most petshops in the UK.

OK the tank they show is a bit small with insufficient water, and the internal filter is pretty useless, but they stress the importance of correct diet, heat and UVB lamps, the need for a dry basking spot, the function of UVB and vitamin D3.

Any newbie would be off to quite a good start if they followed this advice, as long as they realised that it was just a starter setup and not a home for life, I feel they might have at least mentioned that point because it's so important.

With luck they might take on constructive criticism and improve the advice given. It's pretty obvious the whole thing is funded by manufacturers though and the aim is to advertise their products, so much of the advice is bound to be geared towards that.

I do agree with you . In all fairness lots of people in the hobby "masquerade" as herpetologists.
