Yeah I do actually.

Unless it's causing them serious health problems then if you want a bloody dog, deal with it humping your leg when it's in season. Don't get its balls hacked at cause you can't deal with an exciteable dog for a month or two.

Sorry if I sound harsh but why take away the whole aspect of what these creatures stand for.

Rob.
How do you stand on skunk descenting? That to is done for human reasons, along with claw removal in cats and a million other procedures all done for ease of human use.

Remoing a dogs testicles camn have significant health improvements to the animal, therefore, if the animal will benifit then I am all for it, what ever it may be.

Removing a snakes venom does not improve it's health in any way, it only allows keepers to eliminate the risk of a reation to it's bite.

Calming down is a by product of castration, not the main reason to do it.
A dogs jaw is powerful enough to bite through skin and bone, and their teeth can do us major damage, but you don't remove their canines do you?
I personally don't agree with it.

I thikn htere is a massive difference between skunk descentng and the removal of fangs etc in venemoid snakes.

Skunks will onyl scent in a situation which is threatening to them and only as a last resort due to the time it takes them to refill thier scent stock.

A venemoid uses it's fangs and venom as a means of survival for killing it's prey - a totally different ball game.

It may be hypocritical to people who don't agree with either but i feel skunk descenting is on the other end of the scale.
