Well I tried last night too and it worked however he was too big (got a rat snake) so he got out easily enough. I grabed him as he was going back down the hole, but I was affraid of hurting him so let him go. Guess also now he's had a meal of two rat pups he wont want to come out again for a while.

Next time make the trap bigger.

Caught him last Saturday, trying to work out what my tarantula was. I guess if you know where the snake it does make it easier to get them back.

we have a carolina corn my dad bought another corn male to go with her the pet shop gave us a S**t cage which had holes in the corners on the lid which you didnt see, it escaped day after we bought it hatchling corn and you know it being an amelanistic you think it would be noticable we lost it coming up to two months ago. When it escaped we layed out food in every room took food from the bathroom half a pinkie havent seen it since even spent a couple of nights staying up seeing if i could see it come out How long could the baby live for just wondering if we might have a better chance at finding him when he has grown a little? By the way we bought a derelict house and made it livable but some rooms still missing some skirting so could be under the floor boards

I've had a corn awol for the last 3 weeks, I have no idea how he got out of his viv - the only possible way is that he squeezed out of the tiny gap between the glass doors.

I think the bottle trap is a great idea and I'm going to make a few today to try - I have cats and a skunk so was worried about just putting food in a viv or faun and leaving it open for him - plus he'd just eat and leave again.

Fingers crossed it'll do the job - last time he escaped we found him in the kitchen so I'll leave a trap in there, one in the living room inside an open viv, and one in the hallway. Hopefully he's not gone upstairs or outside.

Made the mistake of getting my son to help me with looking after the snakes last week while i was ill and had a poorly glider on my hands...I put the rubs back in a certain order and forgot to tell my son which two rubs needed to go at the bottomnow my yearling corn is missing ..found fresh poo on the floor yesterday so i'm hoping he's not too far..I have severe eczema at the mo so am limited as to how much lifting ect i can do.Have set a trap.Worried in case he gets outside...with the colder weather and all...I have learned a valuble lesson through this..wouldn't forgive myself if anything happened to him.Enclosure now like alcatraz so no chance of it ever happening again.Let's just hope it wont be at the expense of my corn and that i find him.

I found my corn...not in the trap but in the fish tank she/he's been missing almost a month.
Had a few wounds and has been checked out... is ok.
I let the poor thing rest for the night last night with just water he/she has had a feed tonight and is ok.
I'm so relieved.
