heating a viv with just a bulb and gaurd on a stat for a week or so will that be ok .

should be ok is it a coloured bulb or just an ordinary bulb if any of my bulbs blow and i cant get what i need i use a colouerd bulb from my local electrical shop as they still through out the heat
