The US doesn't feed live more then anywhere else,there are ill informed people raising snakes every where.

Conservative boa feeding isn't hard to understand,its getting "people" to understand "why its necessary" and then adjust their schedules accordingly

Birth to 6 months 1 appropriate sized prey every 7-10 days
6 months to 1 year 1 appropriate sized prey every 14 days.
1 year to 4 years 1 appropriate size prey every 3 weeks.
None breeder adults can EASILY THRIVE on 1 appropriate size prey every 30 days.
Same schedules can also apply to the 3rd-4th year with equal results(Longevity)
ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF THIS SCHEDULE IS POWER FEEDING !!
Define Appropriate Size Prey;
Prey item girth doesn't exceed the girth of the "lower third" of the animals body.If it does then only slightly,no hug football bulges after feedings.

They all grow differently. Also a side note, a lot of info is from the US and the US feed live which helps animals grow bigger faster but they also powerfeed a lot more too which isn't something to follow!

As i was looking around the net last night, i was wondering about the fact that in light i can often see a rainbow reflection from my boas, i think you can see it in pic below..when typed in google..information about "COLOMBIAN RAINBOW BOA" after i researched this more, i found information about them, i dont achally think they are this type, because they are spose to enjoy water, and high humidity, but i have never seen my boas in the water bowl, it may just be a coinicidence, can other boas get the "rainbow effect" or is it just "colombian rainbow boas" any info would be helpfull

Many Thanks

I understand you're a bit worked up on this topic but forcing your opinion onto someone asking for help in an area that is open to interpretation isn't going to help.
I have numerous problems with your post but i wouldn't bother trying to talk to you about them because you're obviously not going to listen - and i'm about as arguementative as you get

For the OP, as long as your animals look and feel healthy to you then ignore all the other guidelines out there. Just go with what your animals tell you, so far it looks like you've been doing a grand job.

Many snakes - especially healthy ones - will show the rainbow iridescence.

You've got common boas, but they're very healthy.

Colombian rainbow boas take this shiny look to the extreme - they're a glossy golden brown at adulthood with a major rainbow effect.
