I've been very lucky. The 'bad' snakes I've had were all within the first year. None would be a problem now.
We had a yellow rat that was mental. We had to take it back cos we couldn't cope with it. Now it would be fine, but then it was just too much. Much later we got a large female royal, probably wild caught and a really fussy feeder. She would only eat gerbils and only when _she_ wanted. Tried all sorts to get her on something easier but to no avail.

For feeding my toughest was a 7ft wild caught BCC - stunning snake, very placid but would not eat no matter what I tried. It went without food for 14months before I got it to eat. It was trying to get behind vivs while I was cleaning its tank so I put it into an 18inch tank just to keep it out of trouble and for some reason I decided to offer it a rat - which it took - but for the rest of it's life it would only eat in that tiny tank. It looked like pressed meat in there there was so little room.
For temperament Black Racers or some of the Mangroves I have had were interesting to deal with. Mark |

My boa I suppose he got snake Respiratory infection and with the medicine I had to force a surcince into his mouth for he's drink the ground down Baytail dissolved in water. Now I swear since then he's not forgiven me He has bitten me 3 times, My second are ribbon snakes they're lovely snakes but so fast if they get free from your hold you'd better be quick! Also they're very shy fast and poo all over you, you'd swear they store it. I can't seem to get them to live over a year or so, for now I've garters much easier to manage though still fast movers.

I haven't got any problematic snake at the mo but Deacon, my Royal was a real fussy eater. He didn't eat for nearly 8 months.
Quick question though. Do any of you notice that some of your snakes only take certain colours of mice or rats as Deacon will only go for a rat which are black & white?
