Default Boa's and Pythons Substrate

Ok, i have a poll to see what you keep your boa's and pythons on, please can you also say why.
The reson for this thread is i have always kept them on kitchen roll with furnishings about the tank, its cheep, easy to clean and i have never had mites! i have recently put all of them onto Aspen since geting my new viv stack but i here theres alot of mite cases linked with the use of it. Let me know anyway!

I keep mine on Auboise, its £8 for a bale which easily covers all my snakes housing needs easy to spot clean and its not harmful if digested. It looks much better than some scatty cheapo looking newspaper.

I use newspaper for my adult boas. It's free, no risk of them eating it, and so much easier when it comes to cleaning them out.

I use aspen for both, the main reason is any amount of urates or other stuff on a newspaper and you have to replace the whole lot which involves moving the snake etc. but with aspen you can just remove the affected area, particularly good for grumpy snakes. Oh and it looks nicer.

Just started using it, it seems to be doing the job and is cheaper than aspen

i dampen the leaves and nuke them to kill anything. you'd be surprised how many leaves can go in this big plastic bowl i have. also, anyone thinking of doing this, nuke them in stages so as to evenly heat them all... don't just pop them in there and nuke them for 20 minutes straight... you want it all to steam evenly...... works like a charm for me... just how i roll. my brbs love the leaves and they wet nicely and dry well. i also like the price and looks....
