Exclamation Burm disorientated?

Ok feeding snakes then and offered my Burm a rat, he struck but his strike was so powerful he hit the rat and butted a huge ceramic bowl in his viv full of water, i offered him it again and he seemed very scared of the rat, so i left him until the end. I went back to him and offered it and he keeps striking and missing! He always hits the target even when shedding, hes now lay next to the rat looking at it hissing!

best thing to do is leave him in a darkened room & he should eat it

was the rat sufficiently warmed up? if its not and the snake has only scent to go on they are terrible shots. burms are hardly 'bright' at the best of times.
