It's not that a burm is better than getting it on with the other half... it's that if you don't get it on for a month you're really going to enjoy it when you do go back to it, but if you stop keeping snakes and sell your burm it's GONE.

My snakes are named, they're individuals, and I wouldn't want to give up snakekeeping for a month because it would mean I'd lose Orion and Jasper and Miriel and Theo and so on... but my partner will still be there and there will still be sex available a month later if I gave THAT up for a month.

Sort of like the difference between selling your car so that you don't have a car for a month (and knowing you'd have to buy a different car after the end of the month)... and just not putting the petrol in the car so you can't USE it for a month.

Now, if my other half said he'd disown me entirely and move out if he didn't get any for a month, and I HAD to choose one or the other... I'd be asking everyone I know to board my snakes! That said, he's in perfect agreement with me - if it was a choice, both of us would go abstinent.
