Default question on royals

got a python that hasnt fed for bout 5 months now. should i just leave him and keep trying? ive got some chicks in (quite big) can i try him with one of them??any help much appreciated.

no i havnt. not sure if they sell them at petshop to be honest. can have a look though. would the chick be no good then? just that ive got them in lol

assuming temps ect are ok and he generally healthy....have you tried braining it (small split in the head of his food which makes it smell more pungent and irresistable)...my royals can be finicky and this usually works with the pair of them. royals seem to have this habit of torturing us with their pickiness

i havnt tried the braining either. hes 5 years old and have been told he does this every year. just im a worrier lol not used to it.

i'm a worrier if mine miss one feed, they my babies, shouldn't be too concerned if this is typical of him as long as he doesn't appear to have lost weight. royals are a pain in the ass for making us panick. just keep trying with resonable gaps betwen feeding...check all cons in viv and defo try braining...its never failed me once and all ine get awkward from time to time (apart from my kingsnake who would eat me given half a chance lol)

I am the same as wolfbane, I worry if my Royals miss one feed so I am not surprised you are fretting. I can't see why the chick would be a problem so long as it is the right size but perhaps braining will work. Good luck, hope he eats soon, Kat

thanks kat. and yeah i worry when my corns dont eat. ive been quite patient with the python but now its getting to me lol.
