Thanks macri junkie! I've been stung a couple of time by I. mac but i am always cautious with the other buthidae sp. like the androctonus sp and the other level 5 scorps since anti-venom is not readily available here in the Philippines...the last one is tityus stigmurus, another hot scorp, so be careful if ever you will be able to acquire one...and yes,a sling is a baby.

I apologize for the late response! I don't know much about scorpio maurus palmatus...i have all my scorpions in separate containers except some of the heterometrus sp. and isometrus maculatus since they will tolerate a communal set up.

I only allow male and female to be together in one container during mating.males are the ones to initiate the mating process...they initiate the mating dance by grabbing the pincers of the female and guiding her to solid or flat surface where he can deposit his spermatophore and guide the female genital to pick up the spermatophore with some jerky backward movements...after the process is completed, the male releases her and makes his good scape to avoid being eaten...and then all you have to do is to wait for the female to pop if the mating was successful...scorpion are usually live bearer...
