Just let him know what a bite can do to you.
I got a bite from an adult P.Fasciata and I felt ill for about a week, for the first 2-3 days I was on the couch sweating, vomiting, dizzyness, stomach cramps, headaches, blurred vision, swelling to the bite and some numbness in the fingers of the bitten hand. Not a good day out at all ![]()

If he has a low immune system and couple it with the fact he's never had a tarantula before then any of the old world species should be avoided let alone pokies. Some of the stories you hear about them are terrible, a friend of mine who is perfectly healthy missed two days of work after being tagged by his "7 female aftwards he claimed that he'd rather get bitten by his black widow than pokie if he chose. They are quick and unpredictable, if he really is rampant about having a quick and beautiful spider then push him towards a Sun Tiger or something, they can still pack a nice bite.
