The sort of size housing i am looking for is around 12"x6" not sure what height maybe around 6" possibly a little larger.
If that helps or limits my possibilities.

Can some one give me some info on the mexican red knee, i.e. housing requirements, size etc.

Also can a male and female red knee be housed together at all times?

No red knees male and female would need to be kept seperate. If you are "new" to inverts i would go with other posters and look at Mantids. Target Mantids are a nice sp, not huge but do well in a smaller viv and you can get a pair for under a tenner at the BTS. Would need to be kept seperate though for the same reason as the spiders, lover becomes lunch very easily!

I dont want to spend too much money,
I want something that prob doesnt get much bigger than around 3-4inchs
Is colourful and attractive
Is active and a good feeder
Requires only a small housing

Is there such a thing?
Mexican redknee its about 5inchs can grow but take a long time to get to that if a spiderling.

ok thanks everyone.
Are there any scorpions that you would recommend or spiders/tarrantulas that grow a little faster than red knees?

C.Fasciatum - Quick growing small sized, nice looking T.

H.Arizoensis - Nice, active scorp and grows quite quickly.
