Ok so coir or peat compost as substrate that should be about 2-4 inches deep damp so it clumps when squeezed but no water drips out, shallow dish or lid without cotton wool or sponge for water, faunarium is good, i've got spare bit wood bark stuff will get a fake plant to put in would a bit bark and flower pot be to many hides or would that be better so she has choice? brown crix as food is that everything i need to know so far?

I think so... good to see people being so prepared for their new pet, I am sure it will be very very happy in its new home

I am not sure how many hides a chile needs, I don't think they do much hiding so one or two ought to be plenty.

I keep my t's on soil/peat. Wanted to get coir when my new slings arrived but couldn't get it in time.

The majority of my adult rosies have just the one hide, they're the ultimate pet rock and seem to spend most of their time out, good luck with your new girly, can't wait to see pics

i dont see any problem and have had them on it since i hav had all my spiders i know i had my chilean rose on coco bark and changed it and asked reptile shop what to use and they sed forest bedding. i dont know what to liston to now
erm.. what?! lol

Nothing should be kept on cotton wool, tissue or anything similar, and sponges should NOT be in water bowls. It's bad for the spider... Put them all on coir or peat...

Hi,

I only have 1 C.Rose so i'm not an expert but all what the guys have said above is right I asked the same sort of questions when I forst got mine and their advice has been great.....

I have mine in a Terrerium 30cm x 30cm I used the coconut peat for the substrate what you buy in a brick and soak in water then you can mould it into highs and lows...... Make sure it is bone dry when you put it in there if not your rosie will spend most of her time on something that is dry.

I also have made her own hide and she also has an extra peice of cork bark that she likes to sit on.....

I used a water dish with shallow water and I've added a few peices of plastic plant for decoration which she also seems to like as she has made webs form both of them.

Hope you enjoy........... they are wicked spids

Here's a pic of mine her names Spinxy......

Woohoo!Glad i've got it right so far!I know she'll take a while to settle and might go off her food for a while and that they can do that for a few months if not longer but how often should i offer food?and should i wait a week to offer her something?Like you would do for a leopard gecko!I'm gonna ask the person im getting her off what she's kept on at the moment and also about what she gets fed and how often she feeds and moults etc.I've had pic emailed to me but not sure if it's spider i'm getting or not i'l ask that to and if it is i'll post pic up!Also is there anyone that i could send a moult to that wouldn't mind sexing it for me?
