Default Chile rose help please?

Good evening guys and gals i was asking on here a while ago about care for B.vagans as i was looking into getting one but i'm getting a chile rose instead, hopefully next week at some point. I've been reading up on some care sheets as i haven't read up on them for a while and i just want to check a couple of things 1) I have a plastic faunarium thing that measures 18'' long x 12" wide x 7" high is this ok for an adult chile rose? 2) What's the best substrate to use? I've just read a care sheet that says it's ok to use peat based compost as long as it doesn't have anything like fertilizer added into it. What do you all use for yours? Cheers for any help and advice given

Where is that from? I've got some of the coir stuff in my watched on ebay is that the same sort of stuff? Also thought of another thing is about water i've read that if you use sponge or cotton wool it can cause mould and build up bacteria so would the bug gel stuff i give my crix be ok? Or should i just use a shallow dish?

I believe most people use Coir as a substrate, you can get it here: http://www.camzoo.co.uk/pd-561566567.htm?defaultVariants={EOL}&categoryId=44

small water dish will be fine for an adult spider, I use bottle lids for mine.

Hey Gwinni, I have a fair few rosies and as Zoe said the faunarium will be just fine, and the coir is what I use for mine, as for the sponge, they just harvest bacteria, I just use a large shallow water dish. Rosies like it fairly dry so if the sub is damp then you may see her climbing for a couple of weeks whilst it dries out. Throw in something to hide under, cork bark, plant pot or similar and you're away Hope this helps!

Ooh, first post ever after lord knows how long loitering!!!Woo!!!

BAAAAAAD idea!! Get them off of cotton wool and away from sponges!! Bacteria factories both! Not to mention crap for humidity and the spider can't hide. Put them on coconut fibre aka coir or peat... and use a water bowl!!!!
